Millennial’s Prosperity Challenge

Did you know?

Recent reports from the Treasury Department show that the US government owns nearly $1.5 trillion in student loans.

That’s pretty sad when you think about it: the US government’s #1 financial asset is a debt owed by tens of millions of its young people for university education that didn’t even necessarily qualify them for a real career.

Millennials are the most educated generation in history. Yet there are record numbers of them working off student debts as waiters and bartenders, and supplementing their income on the side with ‘gigs’ (like being an Uber driver).

This was reported by Simon Black, author of the Sovereign Man financial blog.

This is very bad news for young people who were tricked by academia’s rhetoric that “to get a good job, you need a college education.” Sadly, the part that was left out was the statement that it only mattered if you picked a major that had career prospects. Too many students studied what they were interested in without regard for the reality that it could lead to a life of economic enslavement.

The good news is that the opportunity and tools to start your own business have never been better. And for most people, having your own business is the only way to earn an income that’s aligned with the effort you expend. Rather than being stuck in an occupation or corporation that only provides you with limited opportunity to advance, having your own business gives you a chance to do much more. A good example would be someone working in maintenance. In a large company you might, over time, work your way up to being a manager. But it could take a very long time and the pay increase would be minimal.

However, if that same person had the motivation, they could start their own cleaning service, work hard and smart, and grow it into a multi-million dollar business. The key is motivation. There is a lot of free information online for anyone who wants to have their own business. There are also many resources available to get advice and business support. But you have to believe in yourself and be willing to take the risk of rejection and failure in order to have success.

One of the things we love about the massage, holistic health, and beauty industries is working with entrepreneurs at all stages of life. Some people are retiring from first or second careers, some are fresh out of college and now they need skills to earn a living, and others are preparing to carry on a family tradition of having a small business.

This group is highly motivated and are learning total accountability. They are learning that their opportunity is totally dependent on their focus and commitment.

You can have this as well. It’s available to everyone in the United States.

Are you ready for the challenge?
